Mosob is an Eritrean and Ethiopian breadbasket traditionally handcrafted in multiple colours from fibers of Raffia Palm. Many generations ago, the mother had to come up with an artistic invention to keep and preserve her family’s food staple (i.e., the Injera – a spongy sourdough flatbread and the Qicha – a crispy flatbread). This invention known as Mosob also serves as a dinner table to the family in their daily regular mealtimes. Shaped in a circular structure, it symbolizes family love, sharing and togetherness – the defining cultural identities in East Africa. People surround the Mosob with a traditional cuisine. Prayers follow before everyone extends their hands as they take their share, experiencing the intimacy and integrity while enjoying the delicious food.

Amazing Ethiopian Cuisine - With no doubt, the best Ethiopian restaurant in Oslo. Worth a visit for an authentic Habesha experience! I can recommend it to everyone looking for that little extra in their... read more dining experience.
New owners, maybe less great but still good - Based on the reviews from earlier, we had great expectations for this place. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the raving reviews, but we might know why: we called... read more ahead to see if we needed a reservation and the man who took the phone said he was the former owner but had sold the place. Anyway, we came very early (4 pm) and although the restaurant was almost empty, the service was very slow. On the plus side, it is a very clean and inviting restaurant. The food was very good, and plentiful. A combination plate is highly recommended (rather than just one dish). There was no Ethiopian coffee ceremony but good traditional coffee nonetheless.
Terrific restaurant attracting a nice crowd of folks born on the Horn of Africa - What am amazing find! Perfectly prepared dishes )we had a vegetarian sampler with an ox dish. Varied and perfectly developed flavors. Injera tantalizingly tangy with a springy texture.
Also wonderful... read more company of both locals and tourists, and the staff are fantastic and so friendly. Just with there was one more sink to wash hands. Will come back
Had dinner! - IT is good food. Original teff. Test of the food is OK. I recommend Others to try it. For me it is not the best Habesha Restorant in Oslo. May... read more be check the others too.
The best Ethiopian food in Norway - This us the best Ethiopean restaurants I've tried in Norway. The food is amazing. The staff is as well. Good prices, too.
If I was to be picky: it... read more takes some time for the food to arrive. It's never bothered me, but for someone who isn't prepared for the wait, it might seem a bit too slow.
It's worth the wait.
I keep going back and back again.
Must try! - I love injera and Mesob offers a wide selection of delicious meals, both vegetarian and meat. It’s always a pleasure to eat there! One of my favourite spots in Oslo!... read more
Slow, but tasty take-away - We was hungry and ordered take-away from here on Just Eat. It was easy to order and the acceptance of the order came quickly.
However, the time we... read more put on the delivery towards the time it was delivered was very slow. We got it one hour and it took long to get it.
We ordered teh Mesoh Special, as we haven't tried this place before. Also, ordered two extra injeera. Since we wasn't sure how much food nor if it was enough for us two as a couple. We got abundantly and for the price it was cheap.
The flavours was good, the tibs and the doro wet. Even a few of the vegetarian dishes had flair too. This is a good place for introduction to Ethiopian/Eritrean food. We will most definitely order from here again. The amount of food and quality is worth it.
The good thing about our order is that we ordered so much and still had plenty of sauce. That we had an additional dinner with it. We didnt mind and with the way they had packed it. We could just warm it all a few minutes in oven.
I can recommend this place and hopefully next time. We will visit Meshob and not order on the app.
Best Ethiopian / Eritrean cousin in Oslo - We had enjoyed the food with typical traditional test and way with full coffee ceremony. This is a real test after Mama Africa closed long time.
The staff are... read more friendly and you really feel home with fear price
a quiet evening with a friend - over amazing food! vegans welcome - Yep, the reviews are real! This place delivers! The service was very kind and attentive. The place was cosier than expected and a bit bigger. The seating is very comfortable... read more and there are African artefacts hanging on the walls. The windows open on the street. They have a set of meals to order from and each has different dishes in (like on the picture). They taste really differently. Prepare to eat with hands and dont worry - it works out and its a bit fun! For vegans, they remove meat and put the price down, but I still felt very stuffed after a meal, it was more than enough. This was my first time and I for sure will visit again. This place is very central and easy to pop by anytime when in the city center.
